After completing my ecological footprint I found that if everyone lived their life as I did we'd need 6.1 planet Earths to provide enough resources to sustain my lifestyle. I also found out that to further support my lifestyle it would take 27.2 acres of the Earth's productive area, and produce 28.8 tons of carbon dioxide. I honestly had no idea how much it actually would take to sustain my everyday activities of my life. I always thought I lived a relatively eco-friendly lifestyle always carpooling and recycling, trying not to waste too much water and other essentials such as that.
To improve upon my lifestyle it would appear I need to cut back on my energy land usage, as that seems to be taking up the majority of my 27.2 acres. To do this I think I would try to switch my home to a more recycled energy source. Also try to eat more locally made foods, cutting down on transportation. All this as well as shorter showers and things of that nature to use up less water, which in Florida I think is hindered sometimes by the amount of times we have to water the lawn to keep it up to par and in good condition. Overall I was pretty surprised by my ecological footprint so I'm not as eco-friendly as I once thought this website was very insightful and opened my eyes about truly being lively an environmentally friendly life.
